About Us
Britebox Light Therapy is owned by Mark Golding, who also suffers with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Click here to see his case study.
Mark has suffered with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) for as long as he can remember and over ten years ago he began to research light therapy and SAD light boxes. Mark states:
"I was totally confused by the vast array of light therapy products, using a variety of lamps with differing treatment times, costs etc... I just wanted a light therapy product that could treat my Seasonal Affective Disorder!"
After 2 years of work and with the help of Centre Line Design (Britebox Light Therapy sister company) Mark launched his first light therapy unit, the Britebox. Mark says:
"The design brief was simple, we needed a SAD light box which could provide a genuine 10,000 Lux at a minimum of 18 Inches, have daylight tubes (so as not to cut out any of the spectrum and no UV), it must be robust, portable, easy to store and energy efficient” (one thirty minute session costs less than 1p."
We are happy to report that the britebox has now helped 1000’s of SAD sufferers.
Mark has always maintained a simple company ethos:
- Light therapy should adhere closely to the most relevant research which provides extensive, significant data and long term studies showing no risks to health: See Advice on choosing your lightbox.
- The customer should receive a service which is second to none. All emphasis is geared toward customer satisfaction.
We all can appreciates the affects that our environment can have on our health. Therefore we have recently moved to Hexgreave hall along with our sister company, Centre Line Design. We have tall windows that let in plenty of natural light and unbroken country side views. We have already noted a positive change in our emotional health and, indeed, feel more optimistic. We count ourselves extremely lucky to work from such a beautiful place.
